I would make sure that for every minute of instruction you teach you get that same amount of time to plan.
Would be great if we didn’t have to take work home or work extra hours to keep up.
One thing: I’d like someone else to do my grading so I can put my energy and time into creating and delivering great lessons.
Same for me, only someone to do my IEP paperwork and case management so I can focus on my students, which should be the priority! 😊
I would limit the crazy number of interruptions to my classroom: incessant knocking on our locked (mandatory) doors by office aides and kids returning from the bathroom; too many pep rallies/assemblies per grading period; too many kids taken out of classes for extracurricular activities, and more emergency drills in a semester than I had in 4 whole years of high school.
I know that feeling! 😂

I would want to change the micromanaging. Trust that I am a professional and have been prepared for this work.
I would empower teachers to say "no" and not cheerfully take on extra duties, give up their lunch and plan periods to 'help out', stay after school for free because it's 'what's best for kids' while putitng the strain of it all squarely on their own shouders.
No student phones on campus. Period.
