Given that the promotions will be slim to none in the next few years, I am on a quest to get as many certifications as possible to be ready when the market is up again. In your experience, what certifications have been most useful or in demand? I am going thinking PMP, CISA, Tableau?
Does anyone know what a PMP (project mgt professional) does? We hv one on our team and I asked that person to schedule a meeting for a group and received pushback that, that is not that person’s job. I didn’t mean any disrespect I just didn’t know what that person is supposed to be doing....
I haven’t opened a PMP book once, but have studied project management and agile a bit independently. Is it possible to pass the exam before December 31?
Which should I work on trying to obtain? PMP, ITIL, Scrum Master, or others? I have taken the PMP exam before about 3 years years ago but failed and didn’t have the courage to retake it again. However, I have been laid off recently so thinking of what I can do to be better/stand out. Thanks in advance!
Currently have a PMP, don’t feel like I need it and haven’t logged any training towards keeping it active over the last few years. Expires in 60 days. Should I stretch to get it renewed or let it die? Not sure it every really helped me anyway.

Is it worth getting an MBA if you have a PMP? Seeing lots of different opinions on this. Also, it is important to go to a big reputable grad school like Hopkins, Penn State or do MBA programs at smaller (much cheaper) online schools like University of Arizona etc. hold the same weight when it comes to boosting your career? Granted one is only considering accredited MBA programs & schools.
Anyone studying for pmp during quarantine? Curious about how long people have studied before writing the test!
Anyone successfully passed or currently studying for the PMP? What strategies were helpful to you? How did you overcome boredom while reading the materials?
PMP test question. Feel like an idiot: took a super intense prep course in March. Because of covid they made it virtual. I really don't learn well in a virtual environment. Then had to postpone taking the test also bc of covid and ended up failing it (test felt nothing like the mock exams). Very deflating. Now 4 months later trying to figure out how much independent study it's going to take to pass it. Any tips or encouragement? Would like to knock it out in the next 2-3 weeks.
Is it better to get Scrum Master certification or PMP Certification? Or should I get both? Thank you.
PMP or SAFe? Which is better? Why? Are either of these useful still? Do companies care if you have them or not?
Salary question - am I underpaid? I think I know the answer but I want validation from my peers to make an informed decision. I am an IT project manager with 5 yoe, PMP/CSM certified, government consulting, making 72k in DC. How much should I be making?
Any value for project management certifications like PMP or CSM? I've always felt that certs are useless, but recently took a leave of absence and am thinking about doing something chill in the future
PMP certification: Is there a way around the 35 hours of training/education required to apply for the certificate? I have plenty project management experience and have study materials from someone who took the boot camp so I don’t need or want to sit through a week long course.
Thoughts on PMP certification? Does this actually help or hold value in consulting or better to attain for potential exit opps in the future?
Pmp or SAFe certification for more opportunities? Been working mainly pmo and would like to get into product management.

If I were to go to school / earn a cert in 2021, which would provide the best ROI? MBA, Master of Data Science, or PMP? Go!
Niece works in healthcare and is looking to transition to software project management. What courses / certs should she be looking into? PMP does not seem to be relevant in that world.
FYI: if you're sitting for the CPA exam in April/May you won't get your score until August 18. Apparently with the new format they need time to validate performance.
Can the group members please share their experience about the CFE exam? How many days of preparation does it require? What are some of the useful study resources?

How did people decide if they wanted to go for MBB, FAANG, or IB during MBA recruiting? I'd want to spread my chances across all, but heard you should focus on one.
Has anyone tried to get their CFE? Any advice? How was studying compared to CPA?Swore I’d never take another exam again after the CPA but if CFE isn’t too much work to study for it might be worth it.
So I am a CFE and I recently switched to a new organization that doesn’t provide CPE trainings regularly each year like my old firm. CFE requires 20 CPEs per year plus a membership fee & I don’t think
Has anyone used PracticeDump to study for CFE? Is it legit? I’m thinking of getting it since it’s so much cheaper than the one offered by ACFE website

What’s your web camera game for zoom calls these days? Do you use the one in your notebook or got better quality, external one? Just saw my son’s distance learning class where the teacher used two cameras one for face presentation and one over her desk, showing what she writes. I wonder if we all end up using more than one cameras as wfh becomes more and more new normal.

Can any at will employer adjust your salary unilaterally like we’ve seen done at several firms this year? Asking because I’m looking at some job offers and not sure how to assess the likelihood of a salary cut especially if the firm has done it before? First instinct is that they won’t lower it soon just because they’d look terrible right? But legally they could?
