Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

Ask them if they still want the chats. If they do, you could offer to have them once a month only since you don’t share accounts. That way it’s a compromise and you’ve also established whether they even appreciate your time.
We actually already had this convo! They both are still interested and are fine with the monthly cadence. I ran out of characters in my post but probably could’ve articulated that better
The conversation doesn’t have to be about projects. It can be about what kind of shows are in your city, concerts, exhibitions, etc. Also check the vibe of your mentees, maybe they feel just as painful attending as you do, then you can stop it altogether for the both of you. I know I appreciated my mentor a lot but didn’t want to take too much of their time even though we didn’t work together anymore 😀

That’s such a good point! I’ll keep that in mind 🙏
Ask them to propose topics they’re interested in discussing, can be work related gaining outside perspective on creative, processes, etc., general professional growth, personal growth, navigating agency life, or just opportunity to have a break to chat life with someone.

All great suggestions! Thanks
Nice of you that you would like to continue mentoring… give them the floor. Or talk about cool ads
1. Ask them what they want.
2. Make it structured. E.g., everyone shares a high and low so you can celebrate and considerate together, or provide questions ahead of time like fave recent add or what did you want to be when you grew up as a kid or share something we don’t know about you or games (trivia/hues and clues/custom wordle, etc)
3. Add other interns or juniors as optional OR make it a creative-wide thing.
4. Bring a snack to share or see about expensing if remote
5. Do lunch and learns, e.g., a Ted Talk or recent ad and discussion
P.s. sweet of you to want to continue mentoring! We need more people like you
Have them create the agenda!
