Often its about find a fit. We have been interviewing but each company has a culture and not everyone fits each culture. And we want to try to find the best fit.
I mean, statistically you're not going to get every job you interview for. It's frustrating, but it's a fact of life. The fact that you're even getting the interview means you already surpassed 99% of applicants, you just have to keep going.
I am right there with you. I have been looking for 8 months and can't find anything. I have had several interviews but can't seem to land anything.
Tbh, you have to ask them why. I was told it was “timing”, they “ went a different way” , another person had a better “ skill set” than me. Am I OVER QUALIFIED?? I mean what the H***!
My company standard rejection email, and I’ve had it verbatim on voicemail:
thank you for interviewing for the position. This was a difficult decision, but at this time, we have decided to go with someone more qualified for the role.”
Translation: the hiring manager just didn’t like you.
I meet all of the requirements, the what sets you apart, exceeds education, certification, experience… I have stoped applying for a promotion in the department and am now looking in other areas as I don’t want to work under that manager People that have worked under this person have confirmed
that if you think they don’t like you. you are correct.
Watch training on both linked in and you time. Work on interview skills. My resume gets me the interviews but not the job, so that has become my focus.
