I want to get out of consulting and work in software industry as a “semi-technical”(so not necessarily just functional) product manager. Currently have about 3.5 years of tech consulting experience and being considered for early promo to Manager. Focus for past 2 years has been product management/agile delivery Not having great luck landing interviews yet. How do I leverage this background? Or is it too early to wanna go full PM route? Any tips would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Please note I’m new to learning about product management.

Their product/website isn’t for all consumers and requires special information to sign up that I don’t have because I’m not the intended audience for the site. Any suggestions on how to get around this? I might be able to fake my way in and provide junk data but don’t know if that looks bad since my interviewers will know I did it to check out their site.

I look at my peers and feel like maybe i just havent been confident to ask for that upgrade but holy crap am i nervous about this interview. Background - not even the role I applied for.
