I completely agree with you, and I’m sorry you’re having trouble finding work!
Once you’ve hit 50, they want you 1/2 as much. They would rather have a 25 year old.
Yes yourright. They forget we do have the drive to work and have knowledg…not be on our phones texting with friends and doing our jobs. And up most show up for work, no day care problems or sick kids.
Before you start rating on me.…..Yes I went through that before myself.
I'm 53 and I'm struggling,I can't even get jobs where I have experience,I applied for a company which I previously worked for and got told don't have enough experience
The exact same thing has been happening to me to the point that I'm ready to just become a waitress in a diner somewhere even though I've got 30 plus years experience in management in the food service industry.
Hiii I’m Katherine and I am also over 40 andI’ve been looking for work for about 2 months on the 25th of June and I completely understand. I have a disability as well and …. No one😭 … Why is it that I’m getting looked over when I’m so qualified and more than capable to get the job done.
Hi, I'm in the same boat. I'm 45 with a disorder and disability. I worked for a retail company for 20 years then they let me go because they said that I wasn't doing my job. I couldn't walk fast due to needing a total knee replacement on my right knee. It had no cartilage so I couldn't walk fast. Now after using my 401K on 2 surgeries(knee and complications due to Ibuprofen) and paying my mortgage down 3 months, I have no money. I've applied for 40 positions within my ability(I have only an associate degree in psychology),no one is hiring me. It's been a year and 2 months and no one is hiring. I have my mortgage on deferment for the moment but it's racking up more to pay after July. I applied for disability but haven't heard anything yet. It's extremely frustrating.
I have the same problem! I guess they want younger people!😖
