Hi all, asking on behalf of my SO. He’s currently in a backend engineer security role and wants to move into an infra related one. He’s in talks with his manager about moving internally in his current company but that is still in discussion. He just got an offer from another company for an infra role but they need an answer in the next week. How do you guys suggest he push for a decision from his manager about the internal move. Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

I want to quit without a job lined up. My agency is a dumpster fire of incompetent project managers, revolving door of creatives and culture of not holding people accountable amidst a micromanaging gossipy leadership. I just want out. Tell me it is ok and will be alright.
