I don't have much opportunity to work over the summer since my kids are also home. I did sign up for Rover last summer and was able to make some easy extra income. It didn't make me rich by any means, but as far as side gigs go, getting paid to hang out with puppies is hard to beat.

I have not heard of Rover. Is it something local and connected to an app?

I’ve taken on admin jobs that only need a few hours a day. That way, I can spend the afternoons outside with my family.

Now this sounds interesting. Are the jobs still school connected, or outside of education?

summer school

Ours runs 4 weeks and sometimes there is a 3 week one in July too.

It completely depends on your skill set. You could tutor, nanny, house sit, day trade, etc. You could create your own summer school with a few other teachers.

This would be nice. I always thought a performing arts summer school would be so nice

I love working summer camp. I always say I work 10 months to get to camp!

Summer camp is always fun. I love the fun, outside of the classroom connections with students and staff.

The FeetFinder job looks rectally interesting.

Adding this because I find this type of information helpful. Went through the interview process with Meta. They moved quick. Recruiter, hiring manager, and full loop all in a two week period. (I know this was fast because I’ve interviewed with Meta before and it was more like a month between hiring manager and full loop). I was told I would hear in 2 weeks or so on a decision. During this time I got another offer. I let meta know the update. Was told I was top pick but had to wait for…

Need a sanity check here.

When I joined my current company, we were on a quarterly bonus structure with guaranteed payouts each quarter. This was, in fact, how the recruiter said he could meet my salary request.

The company just announced we are moving to annual payouts only, with no payments for 2023 until May 2024. There are no raises happening.

This amounts to 12% less money in my pocket in 2023 plus inflation.

Is this standard, or should I be looking for opportunities elsewhere?

My wife has a degree in sales and is looking for a company with a healthy work environment. She’s also looking for a place that is not crazy overworking their employees and allows a flexible work schedule. Anyone have any recommendations on remote options she might be interested in?

Do most tech/SaaS companies make prospective employees sign NDAs? I'm interviewing for the first time in awhile and am entering into a final round with a company who wants me to sign an NDA prior to the interview. I'm hesitant to do so - especially since I am not sure if I even want to work for this company yet. Is this standard procedure?

is real estate appraisal/valuation a joke? is the average appraiser capable of doing, or doing technical valuation work? genuinely trying to understand how technical the work is as i am graduating from real estate and finance program and considering my job options.
