Could someone at McKinsey explain this? My understanding is that the hierarchy at McKinsey goes from Junior Associate to Associate to Engagement Manager to Associate Partner and finally Partner. On the McKinsey career site, I see several position advertised as Consultant ("implementation consultant", "Healthcare Consultant"). Are these contract-based temporary roles? Or do these positions align more to an Engagement Manager level?

Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?

Any thoughts on shifting 401k contributions from traditional to Roth with the new tax code changes? I'd imagine a lot of us benefit from lower tax brackets in 2018.

I’d like to grow into a sales role (e.g. Account Executive), but am not sure what a good next step should be. I don’t have any full cycle sales experience or a history of a meeting quotas, but I am comfortable in C-suite interactions. Any suggestions on what type of sales roles to consider next? Thanks!

Roth IRA eligibility question: I expect my gross HHI this year to be 214k between my wife and I. This is over the Roth IRA limit of 208k. But I’m wondering if by applying the standard deduction of 24k, would that bring us back under the income limit? I’ve already contributed money to my Roth IRA and trying to figure out if I’m going to need to back that out
