lol. It’s usually the opposite. Minorities don’t hire anyone outside their minority as they talk about how terrible white people are at work.
White people hire all people.
You should try to be less narcissistic. I know you can’t help yourself. But try…

Minorities in advertising get to hire LOL - the only time I had a POC for a manager was at a multicultural shop…and that is in 20 years
Based on my experience, what you're feeling is real. We need to trust our gut and what we see over empty promises.
1. Perhaps your boss was made aware of how it could be perceived and asked for "QT" but that's exactly what "unconscious bias" is. Your boss is more comfortable with people in closer proximity to themselves and in feeling that way, makes you feel isolated and unseen.
2. The other side of that is he/she is trying to dig for intel to cover their ass somehow. Don't divulge too much during this meeting or your perspective. Instead, you ask the questions and use this opportunity to feel them out.
Either way, as a person of color, your radar must remain up at all times.
Yup - they tend to kiss the most ass, are super insecure, boring, and are always trying to get in your business.
Sounds like my old art partner.
Yup - Happens all the time. My boss was/is notorious for playing favorites with my white co-worker. They are consistently used a reference point or representation of the model employee in my reviews. Beyond frustrating.
Agree on someone else’s comment to trust your gut. If you feel there’s exclusionary behavior and/or bias, then it absolutely is.
Stress that you don’t let this job market hinder you from testing the waters. There are opportunities available, I’m a testament.
Start looking now and exercise that muscle for interviewing again.
If you’re able to tolerate your working environment you have the privilege of looking without the pressure to make a rash decision.
