What was your initial salary? And in what position? I want to know if there is hope for me, starting with $45k as an analyst.
Got a healthcare hedge fund analyst offer with 150K base and up to 250K bonus. With comp increase potential but no clear path to be promoted to portfolio manager given the fund size. I have 6 YOE in consulting and a PhD in life sciences. Lifestyle is not much better than consulting. The hiring manager tried to convince me with “long-term upside” but of course cannot commit to anything given the fund is new. Thinking I should turn it down but wonder how others think
Is it worth taking a demotion in terms of role (manager to business analyst) to jump over to McK from another consulting firm? Also would be curious about salary for an experienced BA with ~4 years work exp
Currently a first year analyst with a TS/SCI full scope clearance. Yet at my firm I’m paid the same as my uncleared peers because you don’t receive a clearance bonus until a few years down the road. Are there places where I could receive a big pay bump for my clearance or since I’m so new to the game would it be wiser to stick around even without any reward for the clearance?
How come every salary post I see on here is so high? People are like “Is $150k enough for an analyst role at McConsulting Inc, I have minus 2 years of experience and I studied Political Science”
I just got an offer for $160k base at a Santa Monica start up as a software engineer. I spent 8 months in TDP analyst program before applying to new jobs. Can I afford a $3000/month 1br apartment with my new salary? My salary here was $60k so not sure what to do
As a new audit manager, is it a good career path to leave for a senior financial analyst role at a large Fortune 500 company? Salary is about 10% more. Or should I keep on looking for a accounting manager job?
So I’m a second year consultant. Like most, I was disappointed with compensation this year and am pretty bearish on my future earning potential here. I’m currently interviewing with a big tech company (not FAANG but close) for a position with substantially higher pay as a business analyst. I really wanted to stay til SC/M but the money is too good to pass up. I guess my question is: are there any major downsides to exiting to industry “too early?” Has anyone done it and regretted it?
What's a good salary for someone exiting as a A2 (not getting promoted), as a financial analyst? They kept pressing for a range i said 70-80, but now thinking i should have said 80 90?
Am I being fleeced?! What is the expected comp for Business Operations Manager after you exit consulting? Got an offer for 130k base, no sign on and very little equity Am I being lowballed? I have other analyst friends who exited MBB to make 150k base plus bonus at series D tech companies, is that way you have seen too? #comp #MBB #Exit
I’m currently making $68,500 as a staff 2 in risk (unsure how much I’ll make when I’ll get promoted to a S1 next month). I just got an offer for $85-90k from a start up company for a Sr Sox Analyst position. The additional increase in salary is worth the switch right?
Recently hired as a Workday consultant and after talking to other consultants and analyst I feel like I took a lower comp then I should have. What do you think? Is it too low, too high, or just right? Compensation - 105k + 12% bonus Experience - 7 yrs of workday experience customer side
Generally speaking, what salary range would I get offered if I made the jump to consulting in the DC area? (Current GS-13 Program Analyst, former contractor, PMP, Secret Clearance)
$70k salary for Senior Corp Fin Analyst? I got a job offer in DC for that much. 3 years of experience, coming from Dallas. Seems low...
Hi all, I am needing some help with a salary negotiation. I am trying to relocate to Pittsburgh area. I have 3.5 years of experiences now and getting offered between 80k-85k for base salary for a senior accountant or reporting analyst position. Does this sound about right? I get paid more right now (maybe becasue I am in Oil and Gad industry) but want to see what the market average look like in Pittsburgh.
Does anyone have a day rate or know of one for senior analyst? I was laid off this week and looking into all options including freelance. Thanks in advance!
SO is at the offer stage for a fintech. It’s a compliance analyst level role and a lateral move. The trouble is that the offer came in at the same point as her current salary at a bank. The recruiter made it sound like we don’t negotiate with candidates and it’s an exploding offer. After considering the usual tech perks like discounted ESPP, the offer improves marginally. Unsure if it is the recruiter playing hardball or if they truly don’t negotiate for compliance analyst roles. Any advice?
I’m not an IT or technology analyst but I received an offer to work in a similar role at a prestigious PE fund. The compensation will be around 120k (I make roughly 75k now) - should I take the offer?
Should i pass the CPA before exiting. I want to leave PA and probably accounting altogether and look for more of a financial analyst type roll. Would it help get hired or higher salary?
What’s a fair signing bonus to ask for if I’m countering an offer at 125k base? Is 20k signing bonus for a tech strategy (not FAANG) sr. Analyst role too much to ask?
Good morning. How much should I accept for an Information Systems Security Analyst role? I’m currently making $75K with 2 YOE. What’s a competitive salary? I want to move to another company. Any good company suggestions? I’m still on the market. Thanks!
@BCG Fish - I had a recruiter reach out to me about a research analyst position. What does the comp and structure of this position look like? From the description it seems like a consulting support role.
Are there many Senior managers in big 4 joining FAANG as entry to mid level analyst (less than 5 YOE), where comp level is about 300-350k.
Interview for a Business Analyst role at a large Hospital in the DC area. How much should I say I want for expected salary? Currently at 90k with 4yoe in consulting.
First year analyst making below market compensation bc I got lowballed hard. How do I confront holiday expectations (red envelope/holidays presents/family obligations to help pay bills)
After doing 2 years of consulting, and evaluating salary for exit opportunities, what should be a ballpark compensation range (I know it varies by company and position) for a industry strategy position (senior analyst or something to that effect)? Trying to understand what ball park I should be expecting come that time
What fields/position can I go to that will see the most increase, post consulting, in pay regardless of the work I do? I enjoy my job, but due to some personal family circumstances, I need to increase my salary as much as possible to take on some debt 😔 I am currently a 2nd year senior analyst in Chicago with most of my experience in tech. My base salary is currently ~82k.
I want to get out of tax and was applying to basically any job in the finance/accounting world that didn't involve tax compliance. I just got a call back for an AML/KYC analyst at a large bank. Its seems like a glorified fact checker. Can anyone provide insight into this type of role? Salary, expectations? How do others perceive this role? End game is Forensics with FBI so I think it would be a great stepping stone.
Is a business analyst role a good job prospect if your goal is to be a product owner/manager??? How can I leverage my 2 years consulting experience? What’s the salary like anyone?
What is typical comp for an exit to industry (non tech) after 2 years as MBB analyst? I understand it depends on role but what is a ballpark on what to expect ?
I’m a senior analyst (a little over 2 years of exp and up for a consultant promo this November) in the SF office and interviewed for an L3 Pgm role. What’s the typical base, equity, and bonus of this level? Would L3 be equivalent to my years of exp or am I jumping up 1 level?
Is 75K plus 5K sign on and 5-10% bonus based on performance a good salary for a financial analyst (fp&a) role in MCOL (Think Dallas, Portland, Austin). I have 2 YOE and CPA. TYIA
Have a second round interview with a Midwest bank (public but small) for an M&A analyst role. LCOL city. $65-70k comp with a 10-20% bonus. Currently a Big4 consultant staff 2 (1 YOE) making $58k. Is this an exit worth pursuing?
When it comes to YOE in regard to salary, does it count if it’s not in consulting, but contributes to the skills required in the particular consulting role? (E.g., was an intelligence analyst, consulting role requires analyzing data and deriving insights, etc.)
About to finish up getting my MBA and am considering moving forward with Lockheed in FL. With 3.5 years of B4 Consulting experience, what salary should I negotiate? Business analyst style position.
I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I enjoy consulting with managers and looking at comp, internal equity and providing data to my hiring managers. I would love to know if there is anyone that has done a similar pivot (whether it's recruiter, HR generalist, etc.) to a Comp Analyst and what that transition has been like.
If I move into a financial analyst position after two years of audit experience (and 1 promotion) will i likely start at the bottom of the totem pole? Trying to get an idea of what my salary would be. I feel this role is kinda critical for my 20 -30 year plan so I’m willing to start at an A1 position again. any insight here would be great. Thanks

Currently pushing for a promotion and trying to gauge what salary I should be asking for. Any thoughts on starting salaries for senior strategists? Or a typical percentage increase from current?
What is a reasonable salary in industry for someone 2 years post-MBA? Trying to match current salary, and feel like it is proving me out of interesting Corp Strategy roles.

Any recent reviews of middle office at Millennium Management's NYC office? Culture, comp, hours, benefits etc.
I’ve unfollowed so many Facebook connects for political posts that it’s basically a ghost town of that one guy I went to college with 10 years ago wishing me a happy birthday.
Given that MBBD is having this comp outrage, I can’t wait to see what happens to the rest of the big 4 😂
Making a intra company transfer to NYC. Got decent rating in the past 2 years of evaluation (Distinctive and Very Strong) but I’m now getting a salary of <100K with no prod pay (Continued)
How are firms which are closing handling non-attorney staff? It seems some are forcing staff to use PTO and/or putting them on furlough at some point. We are thinking this through now.
