Hello friends
We are hiring.....

PwC India Hi folks,
I graduated with Master studies in business at Singapore, and recently moved to India. I am currently looking for a consultant role in strategy functions at big4 in India. Here in India, most of the roles in MC & strategy advisory fills through referrals and campus recruitment, and not posting on the websites. I’d like to connect with people at big4 strategy functions for referrals and to know more about the firms operations
Thanks!

I agree..PM’s don’t get promoted as fast as other departments, but I feel like you should definitely be getting that title by going to another agency. I am finding that it sometimes take black folks a bit longer in this industry
If this is your 3rd agency, it means you’ve moved twice and didn’t secure a promotion with either of those moves? Can I ask why? Did you at least get significant pay increases?
Often for us the only way to get promoted is to move so, it’s vital that we try and make every move count.
Sorry, sounds like you had run of bad luck.
Did you have the promotion conversation when you interviewed for the job? Swift promotions can never be assumed at any agency no matter how good a performer you are. Unfortunately agencies are far from meritocracies.
If you haven’t done so already, you need to make your ambitions clear with your boss. Tell them you’re ready for promotion and give the evidence why, as they’ll need that to advocate on your behalf. It might take a while but if no progress is made it may be time to find your fourth agency, but this time make sure you get the promotion going in.
I feel like project managers don’t get promoted as quickly as other disciplines. For project managers and producers, the metric seems to be the size (budget) of the job. What has seemed to work for me is freelancing and getting jobs higher than my current position. I decided I couldn’t wait for bigger work or someone to promote me at my own agency.
And to answer your question it took about 3 years, 2 different agencies.
