Different sort of perspective question. Stereotypical women in leadership do still exist even if we try to fix it. This being said how is everyone handling situations where everyone above you pretty much is a woman and several are the stereotypical battle axes a couple are super crunchy and then there’s me an extroverted leader who wants everyone to win, shares the secret sauce when I get jt humble leader that is being swallowed alive by these women ?

Every generation (regardless of gender) thinks they have the secret sauce and next gen management whisperer skill and are killing it! FYI - you are not, otherwise this would not be an issue. When you are promoted up, you will learn that every successful leader has to wear multiple hats (many that are not of their choosing), and support the ever-changing needs and sometimes incredibly unfair, subjective, and political whims of the business and the board. What you see may not be what is really happening behind closed doors or beyond your pay scale. The women I had as role models in tech were incredibly smart, savvy, and strong women who moved mountains for many of us underlings. I found that you can benefit a lot by listening and watching - there is a reason why they made it to were they are and the smart money is learning how to get there yourself by earning their advocacy and support to make your journey faster. Don’t keep the battle axe salty female leader stereotype alive by your own fear of rejection, counter it with understanding and respect.

Never read such a true post. Thank you!

To start, I don't think it's going to help by referring to other women in leadership by those terms. It reeks of internalized misogyny and not actually someone who wants everyone to win, but more of a "not like other girls" personality type.

People see through that persona quickly and it doesn't win you any favors in leadership. I'm not sure what you think you need to fix since you don't list any actual problems or scenarios other than women who you think fall under a certain stereotype that you don't like.

I got fired from my last job by an older gen x director (female) with 3 kids, while pregnant.

Watch your back and pray these women retire/get forced out soon.

It's interesting to see a man feeling what women felt for decades.

Need advice. I’m at my first job in private accounting. Previous experience is as an auditor. I am struggling to figure out the way JEs are posted at my current company. It’s never straightforward even for simple entries. There’s things like settlements which confuse the crap out of me. I’m curious if it’s just my company or if every sophisticated accounting department will have non traditional ways of posting their journal entries.
