I'm interviewing for a SaaS AE role this week after getting rif'd from another company.

During my interview I'd like to ask the leaders how they've set their reps up for success and what the company is doing to make sure they don't have the same issues as many other companies seem to be having.

Is there a respectful way to ask and see what the health of the company is?

Nearly a year in on a shrinking SDR team.
I am finding it increasingly unlikely that I'll be able to get off this team over to MM AE until the empty seats have been filled and brought up to speed.
At this point a move sideways into an AE role elsewhere is looking better and better.

Should I be patient or just take the leap?
Any tips on best positioning that in an interview?

How do you get an interview at Salesforce? I’ve been applying for 3 years with no luck to be an account executive. I’ve heard most people only get hired through a referral. Is this true? How does anyone make connections to someone there? Thanks guys

This company I am interviewing with is not proposing a base salary and an OTE. They are asking me to create it and I really need guidance here. It’s an AE role in medical SaaS sales for orthopedics surgery. What do I need to ask? So far I know that they cover medical insurance, there is no 401k, and there are private company stock options. It’s mainly inside sales with maybe 10% travel.

My thought was 75k base and 110k OTE. But they are saying to lower the base and increase OTE.

Just finished an interview for an AE role at a high-growth SaaS organization.

The interviewer told me that their quotas are very high - barely any of their sales reps hit quota YoY. They mentioned, “goals are high to push our reps. hence our YoY growth”

Is this a red flag?

When making the Jump from AAE to AE, what should the salary be? How much of a salary increase should I expect if I got promoted within my current agency vs. getting hired as an AE at a different agency. Trying to see if I want to stick it out at my agency or start interviewing over the next 6 months.

How many rounds of interviews are normal for a small, independent agency? I’m in the process of interviewing for an associate account executive (entry level) position if that helps! I’ve had a phone screen and one virtual interview with the co-founders so far.

I’ve been in the auto industry (inside sales, think account executive type positive. As well as supply chain, marketing and incentives experience) for over 10 years. I have a wide array of skills that could be applied to almost any industry. I’ve had a really hard time transitioning/translating that in my resume as well as in interviews. SalesForce folks, a recruiter reached out for an opportunity to interview for a AE position in my specialty. I noticed there is also an opp available locally for a Strategic Account Manager in my vertical as well.
Any one know of pay difference between the two, responsibilities/expectations, how they are viewed in the org itself?
I understand they are different but in my job today, I handle both roles so can go in either direction.

Looking at people’s profiles that work at this agency on LinkedIn, it feels like I have more experience than all AEs there and match more with SAE levels. Interviewing for an AE position on an all-male account team this week (AS/AD/VP/SVP). HR sounded really interested in my background and I’m excited about the company. However, I’m a little apprehensive about the all-male team, especially as I’ll be the most junior role. Am I overthinking this/any advice going into the interview?

My former Account Supervisor just lost a job because his AC (now AE) he was abusive to was on the hiring team for a job he interviewed for. Moral of the story: treat the people beneath you well. 💁‍♀️
