Do you guys have both a primary care doctor and an ob/gyn? I’ve always used my ob as my primary care doctor to manage conditions like asthma. But I recently moved and my new ob said I need a separate primary care provider to manage my asthma. Is this weird?

I don't think its weird - they are different types of practices. I've always had a separate primary care doctor from my OB/GYN. Though, the years when I've been pregnant I didnt see my primary care doctor because the OB/GYN did all my bloodwork, etc. and I didnt have anything else going on for a primary care doctor to manage.

Same.

Yes always separate. Im surprised an ob ever agreed to prescribe an inhaler tbh lol. If you’re in a pinch for one, you can probably get an urgent care PA to prescribe it

Yes, have always had two separate. Their functions are completely different.

Yes, always separate.

The only people I know who use their OBGYN as a PCP are women who have babies every year or two. My kids are 4 and 3 years apart, so after my postpartum visit I switch back to my PCP because I have no need to see my OB regularly. Happens to be my PCP moved to my OB’s practice so they’re down the hall from each other, and I have a thyroid issue that my PCP monitors during my pregnancies, but I find it convenient to have a separate PCP because his knowledge is different and because he’s much more available than my OB is

like

Separate, but also because my OB couldn’t make referrals which were sometimes necessary with insurance.

I have always had a separate PCP and OBGYN.

I’ve always had them separate.

Yes have both

Yes, separate, although my RE is currently acting in lieu of my OB/GYN.

Reproductive Endocrinologist (fertility specialist).

Had to laugh when my GP and I realized I hadn’t had a Pap smear or GYN checkup in a few years, but I’d had about three dozen transvaginal ultrasounds, a few blood panels and a hystroscopy. Probably pretty covered on anything to watch out for down there.

I used to have separate but it seems in Boston, where I am, there’s almost no such thing as GYN anymore?? I was told my primary care can do all of the routine gyn stuff like Pap smears and I would get a referral for anything outside of that.

I graduated with my MBA in finance in 2020 and began working at a bank as a Management Trainee. 2 years later, I am an assistant to a financial advisor studying to become a financial advisor. However, I have to do this on MY time and not the bank's.
I am not in a Management position, I make as much as a teacher in a good district and I just don't feel my overall self worth at this job. Does anyone have any advice that can help this situation?
