Am I the only person who has been super disgusted to Fishbowl’s response to the Meta layoffs? I’ve been laid off twice in my career but I’m not mad at 11000 people who no longer have jobs just cause they got decent severance while I got a week on my way out. Hi fellow teacher assistants, instructional assistants, teachers aide, paraprofessionals. I am a full time k assistant in an elementary school. I'm wondering how other schools share lunch duty.

Just wondering if others have a clue what’s going on. We have been told nothing about how we will do our job this year. Or if we even have a job. Our school is doing in school for K-6 and hybrid for 7-12. I’m not sure if I even want to be there. It’s very concerning to me.

Do y’all get moved around from hall to hall? I’ve been moved so many times. I have 2 more years until I can retire.

I feel like in our school they are asking more and more of aides and other staff with no certification (beyond HS diploma). Don't get me wrong I don't mind helping out but we are the lowest paid position in the district, why are we asked to fill in for everyone else with no compensation? Ive subbed in classroom and special areas... um even uncertified subs make more than me... admin insists this is happening everywhere and we need to be flexible... but is it really?!?!
