We have monitors for lunch!
We have lunch and recess aides who also have classroom duties (copying, laminating, etc.). When I was working in pre-k, I went along with my students for lunch and recess as a familiar face and to assist if there was an issue with my students. No other grades have teaching assistants go with them. Our MS/HS has lunchroom monitors.
I am included along with other teachers on duty, but follow students to play ground. I have also only shadowed the students who are in my class, not responsible for othets, but help where needed
Same for me last year, but not sure whay to expect in the fall

My school has 12 regular Ed Instructional assistants. We have 6 in K and 6 in 1st. No other grades K-4 have an assistant. We do have an II department and special ed with assistants. I am a K assistant. For lunch duty all regular ed assistants spend approximately an hour and a half in the cafeteria. This includes monitoring their own class as well as another grade classroom. Some have 2 classrooms or 3 classrooms amongst 2 assistants.
