Sometimes you really do have to get creative outside of work to get that fix. It is work, and a lot of times even the most interesting ideas you were excited to work on, don’t get to play out. I think it comes and goes for a lot of us. I still like my job, but the thrill isn’t there every day with every project.
I don't think anything's wrong per se. Sadlly this is the slow progression of a fast paced industry. Over time, the pressure to deliver results overshadow the excitement that once ignited your creativity. I try to take a step back and reconnect with a personal projects or collaborating with others outside of my usual scope to remind myself of that passion. And almost always it trickles down to work as well. Good luck!
Sometimes it can feel like we're spinning our wheels, and it's more about getting the work done than being inspired. But when you really feel like you're manning an assembly line, it's good to get back to your inspirations. Whatever it is that makes you energized creatively, art, music, poetry, horticulture, carpentry, knitting, whatever, dip into those waters.
