As with any meeting at an inconvenient time — ask for a meeting outline, determine if you need to be there, take measures to cover the meeting if you will not attend (make sure someone from your team is on the call) and ask for meeting summary/notes after the call.

This like the idea of asking for a meeting outline. A lot of the time I feel pressured to attend so I don’t miss anything. But at the same time, if it’s a teams meeting I can just ask for it to be recorded
I think you need to be honest and communicate with your colleagues that the first hour of your work day is blocked out. Can you not block it out in your calendar so it cannot be booked in?
Yeah I totally get that. Is there anyone else that’s also on different hours to the rest of the team? Maybe you could chat to them and see how they feel?

Yep, I deal with that too. I try to keep my mornings for focus work, but every now and then a meeting sneaks in - it’s definitely not the best way to start the day.
