I’m an HR Manager for a small (41 employee) company in Chicago. I make $70,000 a year no bonuses. I’m SHRM-CP and PHR certified with four years experience and a masters in HR. Am I underpaid?

Reviewing a salary offer for a Benefits Manager position in Greensboro, NC industry is retail. Offer made of $95k with 18% bonus. I have 16 YOE, degree in Business, and PHR and Shrm certification. Potential employer has 10k plus employees. I will have two reports and will report directly to the Director of Total Rewards. Any thoughts or advise on offer made? I will let them know on Monday my decision to accept, counter or decline. Thanks!

Does anyone have any advice on passing the PHR the first time around?

Anyone have suggestion on good sources a little shorter in duration and more real life scenario based, to pickup Consulting Excel, Project Mgmt and HR cliffnotes or know-hows. Im looking into all these HR Certificates (SHRM, PHR, HRM etc.) Im entering a new field and want to he able to be savvy enough not to look like a complete beginner in the practical side on how to actually do the theoretical part. I am a CA, I started my professional journey with Deloitte in Audit. Worked for less than 8 months and left kyunki maza ni aa rha tha. Then I switched to core Finance, worked for a year and phr wahi maza ni aa rha. Sbkch bore lg rha tha wahi regular CA waala kaam dekh dekh k.

Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

I am currently obtaining my masters of science in Human Resources at USC, hv a PHR -SHRM certificate in Human Resources and a bachelors in communication with minor in business. I have about one year work experience… is applying for Human Resources management out of the question? In southern Cali.

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I have my Masters in HR and my PHR but I don't think HR is for me, or I may not have the confidence for this role. I want to quit my job and live off my savings which can hold me over about 6 months, but then what??

I have been an HR assistant for 2 years in the public sector 80% staffing 20% recruiting, I want to break out into the private sector and have 5+ interviews but never seen grab there attention. Recruiters have told me that I interview well, Any Advice?? I have also gotten a Hr management Cert and working on my PHR.

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.
