I do and I love it. I'm single, don't have a ton of hobbies, and the few friends that I have don't live nearby, so volunteering has been the perfect way to help others (and myself). I currently volunteer at an art center with a focus on special needs, and there is nothing like seeing the kids faces light up when the creativity starts flowing. I will say that it took me about 4-5 different tries in different volunteer opportunities to find the right fit, so don't get discouraged if one doesn't work out.
Oh that is so unbelievably lovely.
I used to work at a care home for adults with special needs and there’s just something about it that’s so fulfilling.
That’s not even something I’ve ever thought about that it may take a few tries to find the right place! Thank you for making me aware of that!
Yes! I volunteer one day a week at a bike co-op which is so much fun. I also try to volunteer at community sporting events as often as possible. Volunteering is such a great way to meet new people.
Ahh that’s lovely!!
We have a local 5k run called park run in my town that’s every Saturday morning and I’m torn between running it or helping volunteer! Maybe I could do 50/50 throughout the month!
I volunteer teaching ESL to nursing students. It’s fulfilling I take online classes to be a better teacher.
Oh wow that’s amazing!
Yes! I foster kittens through my local rescue. It's so rewarding and so needed, especially this time of year when there are so many litters being born. Highly recommend if you're an animal lover - it's the best!
Ahh that’s so lovely!!
I would love to do that, unfortunately at the moment I live with my parents and my dad is allergic to animals :( but I’m a huge animal lover, especially cats. Definitely something I’d look to do in the future!

There’s a huge food drive in my community every year and I usually volunteer to collect donations around the neighborhoods day of (Everyone place’s their donations at the end of their driveways). I also volunteer with my church to aid with worship service every week.
That sounds really lovely. It’s so nice when communities come together to do good for others. We don’t have anything like that around here that I’m aware of, but never say never, it could be started!
