I got laid off today and I’m scared

Someone from EY hit me up about leaving. They had genuine concerns about layoffs. Is it that bad?

Accenture CEO said on earnings call that accelerated performance cycle will help manage low performers at greater pace if need to pull levers. More layoffs are incoming soon. About last layoffs, we didn't do any layoffs it's cost adjustments mostly in operation centers and restructure due new growth model. 🤷‍♂️

I just started at my firm’s main office as a first year after a brief deferral. My partner received a job offer while I was a 3L in a nearby city (think Houston/Dallas, NYC/DC) where my firm has a small office. Fortunately, he’s currently WFH (so living w/ me) until late 2021 or early 2022, at which time I would like to switch offices to move with him. How do I go about ensuring this move will be approved? I figure I have a year to get a good reputation so the firm will let me?

What are reasons to stay in Big 4 vs switching to a mid size accounting firm? What are some reasons to switch? I keep seeing ppl switch to midsize and I don’t get it. Once you’re in big 4 why would you want to downgrade? Am I missing something?

I was working On 6.8LPA in India - FY 2021-2022 till Nov 2021. I was out of taxable income till now ( in my 4 years of exp) using the tax benifits insurance,HRA etc.. I have switched to a company with 12 LPA(30%tax slab), Please help me in below: 1. how my tax will get calculated as I was not taxable till Nov2021, but i am now. 2.Is there any site/portal which can predict taxable amount? 3.Please guide me in How can i reduce tax burden? I have already exhausted with 1.5 LPA tax benifits limit.

Hi I’d love your thoughts on dealing with a creative recruiter. Recruiter reached out to us, interviewed with us on the phone, we interviewed with the ECD on the phone. He said we were the perfect team that he wanted to work with on this freelance project. And look forward to working with us. And it would kick off this week. And then radio silence. We followed up with emails to both the ECD and the creative recruiter and more radio silence. Do you just walk away?

By Monday, half of the month will be done. Yet no intimation and no clarifications. Surely none will get the revised salaries now in this month and bonus will be paid in October. Then, why the hell I'm waiting in here for... 😒

Hey all - need some important advice. I feel like I under-bargained base/starting salary at Slalom. Got 79K base with up to 8% bonus in a low-to-medium cost of living area as an AC. I'm 1 year out of college (top 40 uni) with ~1 year of NON-consulting experience (mostly programming/software dev. experience at some small companies). How should I expect to increase the salary up to six-figures for the next 2-3 years?
