An ex co-worker of mine got laid of 2 years ago and got into an industry role that wasn't the right role (level accountability etc) but took it as it didn't come with a paycut. My suggestion was to explain the situation as it is, his concern is how he'd answer why he stayed in the role for that long. Thoughts ?

I’ve been feeling incredibly burned out lately (as many of us do) and trying to decide if I should take a leave of absence or sabbatical type of break. I had 2.5 years of exp in strategy consulting and 2.5 years in BizOps at Big Tech. I want to take some time off to relax and reflect on what I truly want for myself for the next few years and try to learn new skills like UX research or Coding. Is this crazy or something that people have tried to do in the past?

I'm trying to leave my job in big 4 (2nd yr). But, I don't feel adequate enough to try for senior positions (even entry-level). I feel so 'cause I see myself as an impostor: I don't know what I'm doing. I went to univ. and I'm ashamed to have trouble remembering certain basic concepts. Somehow I just survived, yet this feeling still remains to this day. It's clear I am not fit to work here. TBH, I think I got it by luck. I'm frustrated trying to change jobs yet I feel like I'm not good.

I’d love any and all advice you have on being the only woman in an all male team.
