also don’t leave without whistleblowing whoever’s ass for discrimination lol
I’ve filed an inquiry at the EEOC but they don’t ever have appointments, so I’m stuck for now. I’ll complain for sure once I’m gone. I have to do my part in making sure this doesn’t happen to others who work with chronic illness.

In my experience the Banking/Financial Industry has always been the most toxic industry. My surprise ended once I read what industry this was happening in. They are border line abusive and will be one of the last industries to fully change to a remote industry.
I would recommend to take your skills and leverage them in a different industry.
How are you facing discrimination?
After going from new accounts rep to VP in less than 5 years with this chronic illness/disability, I started experience additional health issues and concerns due to an unsustainable workload, I told them I couldn’t force myself to come into the office when my chronic pain is bad because that just makes it worse and my position 100% doable from home. Then they tried putting restrictions on remote work days per month, I called them on it, then I put my concerns on my self appraisal in the support section.
That resulted in HR starting the ADA accommodation process. Then my manager started additional monitoring, requiring I track all unplanned work I’m doing and report it, in addition to constant criticism and gaslighting. I reported the retaliation, then the hostility got 10x worse. I also received a bad performance review for the first time immediately following this, after my last 3 roles being created for me and my past reviews all exceeding expectations.
Keeping in mind that HR already works from home 4 days per week cause of a long commute, during my meeting to explore accommodations, I had to sit across from her and the COO justifying why I needed 4 days remote work accommodation. Ultimately, accommodations were approved, but the COO is disrespecting me in front of my peers, removing future training opportunities, aggressive and also spending tons of time trying to build a false narrative against me via email. I have to go pull data and respond just to refute the claims she’s making which is also super stressful.
Assuming you’re in a DEI role now, that’s frustratingly ironic
100% on the companies that aren’t change averse, but also… a company not plagued by politics or silos. I value equality, transparency and honesty in the workplace, and my experience in Banking never held true to any of those standards in my 10 years working in Financial Services. It really wasn’t until I started working with innovative tech companies that I really understood how bad it was.
