Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

What is the culture like, type of work and reputation of Capco in the Data & Analytics space?
I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.
TIA

PwC doesn't target MBAs. What did you find in your googling?
Strategy& does target MBAs and their base is £80k+£5k allowance+bonus+pension match (1.5x)
PwC London doesn't have a different pay scale for MBA /non-MBA so you might be comparing S& to PwC non-MBA, which even in the US is a pretty big gap.
Very separate.
Influenced by prestige, what they charge the client (it’s slightly different in the us), hiring priorities (pwc targets more undergrads in the uk, than mbas), value of an mba is generally less in the uk, the general uk jobs market salary and pwc adopts a more regional focused hiring strategy vs mbb who are more globally aligned.
Those are all factors that determine pay differences, but the reason you can't get a good comparison of PwC MBA pay to MBB pay in the UK is that PwC doesn't pay a premium for MBAs.
In the US, PwC pays SAs a ~40% premium for a top MBA (has to be on the list of qualified programs). They pay an even higher premium for S& consultants (S& doesn't pay a premium for MBAs except for the first year after MBA).
In the UK, PwC does not pay a premium for MBAs at all, so you're comparing MBB pay to non-MBA pay. In both countries, the difference is stark (>50%).
MBB post MBA base us more like £85-100k just FYI
Pretty much the same in US.
