Ogilvy leadership talk alot about transparency. I would love them to put their words into action. Lauren should come out and confirm that she did not get a bonus (the sad truth of the matter is that despite layoffs, revenue and margin declines, it would not surprise me if she did). Sad state of affairs. Happy to stand corrected.
Well I just got laid off from the industry job I started a few months ago and hated. The fact that I’m not even remotely sad about it shows how toxic and horrible the experience was. Good thing is I already have interviews lined up and have been applying to jobs way more in the past week so I’m not even phased.
My little sister got engaged today. She’s so in love and she truly found her soulmate. I’m so happy for her but I can’t help but feel bad for me. She’s always been an over achiever and has always “beat” me in everything (job, looks, love, social life etc). She and her fiancé are moving into a nice new condo in an amazing city while I’m single and stuck with my parents because I got laid off during Covid. I love my sister, but I’m so sad about my current state. I don’t know how to feel better.
I got laid off in the most disrespectful and demoralizing way. I was sad and depressed. Then the clouds parted, and the sun came back out. I focused on positives. I gave out good vibes. I helped a bunch of people. I tried to not get dragged down in spite and bitterness. It was really hard!
Best part? I just got hired after only 3 weeks off and it’s for somewhere better (a TRULY independent shop!) I’m making more money and will be working with people who seem talented, capable, and smart.
Been hell of a year so far. Sort of bittersweet. Lost my job a few months back. Laid off the first time. But my net worth is all time high. And not only that, this has been the fastest increase. 401k up 40% this year. Personal brokerage up 40%. And just refinanced at 2.5. Not sure whether to be sad or happy. Guess will go with happy for now.
I was sad to hear about layoffs at W+K. If you were part of this and want another job in PDX, we’re hiring (although, technically, you can live anywhere now and WFH).
I’m feeling very sad. I just learned that the partner in my previous firm got fired. I considered him my mentor. He took me under his wing. He was my Don Draper and I was his Peggy Olson. I’m really bummed about this, heartbroken and worried. Nobody knows why. The ex-colleague said everything was normal, they sent him emails but bounced back. Nobody saw it coming. 😢
Anyone else struggling with jealousy after being laid off?
I feel sad and angry when I think about the people who can stay just because their group has a union and / or they work there over 10, some even 20 years.
I really loved working at this agency. My bad luck was that our group lost our only client. I really wish I could stay! 😢
Was laid off last week from Deloitte after two years. While I’m sad about the situation, I’m taking it as a sign from the universe to start anew. Interested in pivoting to public sector consulting. Would anyone from Guidehouse be able to refer me? Curious about the day to day life of someone working at Guidehouse as well. Thank you in advance.
Know this may be a long shot in terms of actual responses but:
@PPMDs, what are your thoughts on the current/impending COVID specific layoffs at your firm?
E.G. Glad for the opportunity to reduce the headcount of mid performing SMs with little/no chance of making PPMD? Sad to see a firm you’re a part of undergo such unforeseen circumstances?
Quick vent: fiancé and I were going to put an offer in on an apartment we loved before all of this Covid stuff happened but changed that plan to rent to buy starting Aug to be safer. The sellers just told us they accepted someone else’s offer to buy. We, especially me, were in love with the apartment but we were too risk adverse to buy now bc if Covid and fiancé working at a startup that had layoffs in the beginning. Just sad bc we’ve been looking for two years and this was the perfect place.
It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️
DDB Chicago posted ‘we’re hiring!’ today. For the same creative roles they just laid off.The press DDB would’ve gotten for being the first agency to bring people back? But instead they humiliated those people with this tone. Really sad!!!!!
So Uber layoffs have started. Uber subsidiary Careem to let go 31% of it’s staff. Sad state of affairs...
My coworkers and I were laid off from Grant Thornton mostly due to utilization issues, although it's sad that utilizations were out of our control, should've left earlier like the rest of our peers.
I’ve been working at a toxic agency and I just got laid-off.
What I Say: “I’m so sad this happened.”
How I Feel:
Is Accenture telling folks to use PTO if they are on the bench? I assume once they have used up PTO- they will get laid off? This is both sad and very scary.
Would you be sad if you got fired today?
Just got laid off today 😥 super sad
How do you survive in a company after layoffs? Feel thankful to have a job, but the people left are miserable and overworked and sad.
If one of your major clients(m) came on to your senior art director(m), and after being rejected decided to pull their business from your agency unless you fired the AD.
What would you do?
Do you feel sad when engagement finished, as a result, multiple people got fired from client side? Actually not their fault. But executive get rid of them to cover their own ass. I felt like shit...
Bf’s company just did layoffs today. He survived, but is extremely sad... any advice from someone who went through layoffs?
Is it sad that I hate my agency so much I dream of getting fired? Because it would be better than working here while searching elsewhere?
“Two years ago I couldn’t get a job. I was fired. My income dropped to 1/16th. It’s so sad my husband couldn’t be here. (committed suicide) You CAN turn things around” - Joan Rivers 1990
The sad irony of all the good people who tried to roll out a good product and now have been fired by the AI logic of that bastardized (Microsoft) product so that they can hire more offshore workers.
When you dream that you got fired from your job, wake up, and get sad because it was just a dream! #timetogetout
Pretty sure co-worker is having his exit interview right now. Was talking about getting fired last week but first meeting with mgr signaled no firing. He looked super sad going in... 😕
Community post for those Deloitters who just got laid off. Not to ask how/why, but to support each other in next steps and comfort those who are just plain sad.
To all the Deloitters - it's sad that there are layoffs.. Its good that you want to share the news and "warn" others but how about following a template -- level, office, service line, rating
If you’re being paid out severance over a period of time rather than lump sum, are you still considered to be employed by the company? What is your termination date if you’re still receiving payments?
What is everyone’s thoughts on the future of (big) ad agencies? With lots of companies bringing it in-house, clients asking for a lot more with less and Agency layoffs left and right. Cont...
Would really like to know what's going wrong at PwC. Can someone please explain the root cause of unhappy employees, layoffs and steamroll culture?
Hello there, i’m wondering if anyone on this group has experience opening your own agency? I was laid off in April and had been freelancing ever since. I have been luck enough getting a few projects without really seeking people out while slowly interviewing. In the back of my mind I have always wanted my own agency. How do you get more clients and dealing with the sales/pitching process on your own? also as WOC i don’t feel like have the right network to tap into for higher earning projects
To people who've been layed off or fired, do they seize your laptop in the office or were u/they informed on a call and had to return it to their home office. Just curious
Hello! I was recently laid off by my company due to an internal financial situation. The total time I’ve spent there is about 5 months. Will there be an issue getting a new job?
For those of you who have been laid off: thoughts on temping/freelancing at some random place while you search?
Ladies, I had dinner with a friend and his wife and my friend (also a consultant) said he was worried about me being laid off. Any of you nervous about this right now? How are you dealing with it?
Walked into the office in rolled up jeans, white t shirt and sneakers. Met a partner, got his number, IT actually did their job and was out of there without being fired. Can I just call it a day now?
I just got fired from job as an Account executive at a company for not performing well enough after 3 months (Even though we are still in middle of pandemic in NYC).I want to get into SaaS sales soon. Does anyone have any advice on what do next? where I can find a good company that will invest in my growth & training? Or jobs for sales people that are flexible and have good work-life balance? Want to weigh my options before I jump in the next opportunity
For those of us who have been laid off, are you searching immediately for a new role or are you taking time before looking again?
Will Slalom ever do covid layoffs?
About rolling off my project with no new project opportunity yet. I’m already getting anxious and can’t have a full night rest with the worry of not finding a project soon and eventually getting laid off. Although I tend to stress-out easily but this type of anxiety is different. Are others feeling the same way? Also over 90% chargeability and great reviews, but seems like that may not matter with the recent layoff stories I’ve read....
Ford layoff news got me thinking: Why don’t corporations gradually increase annual target for separations and freeze hiring, instead of one big X% workforce reduction?
Do you have to return the sign on bonus if you get laid off, sign on period (2 years) has not yet passed. I would also like to know the firm's severance policy.
Just was fired, told I will continue to be supported for a month, but have unfinished projects I'm leading, the rest of the team doesn't know yet, what do I do? What are my options?
People who got laid off and was job searching, what the longest you are/were unemployed?
Recently people started to use “maybe you will get fired” as a joking phrase. I know it is not true but can’t help wonder is it because I am doing a bad job...
Poll: did you frame your bar license scroll(s)? What about court admissions? I just got a license scroll from a new jurisdiction and I’m not sure what to do with it. I did not frame my other two and with three degrees, three licensures, and several federal court admissions, I’m think my office wall is going to look a bit absurd.
Anyone familiar with the corporate environment at Sprint? A recruiter reached out to me about a PM position there.
Colleague to me in regards to a department meeting our boss set up “I don’t think I can join this zoom meeting, I’m trying to socially distance myself from you guys”

How do you deal with toxic masculinity in the workplace? I work with a lot of great people, but there are a handful of men that are so aggressive and downright sexist. I have had my boss blame me for small mistakes he’s made and refuse to discuss my performance or a raise. There are also men outside of my team who tell me how to do my job when they do not understand marketing. Is any of this remotely normal, or should I cut my losses and start job hunting?
Impetus is hiring for multiple locations
Can anyone help me with the interview questions for marketing analyst at Agoda Bangkok. ?

Total experience of 5 years. I started working with Accenture from last six months. However I applied an IJP transfer into a different deal in same level my package is 4.65 lpa and the team in which I am moving, the minimum budget for an associate is 9lpa. Am I eligible for hike? Can I ask for hike? If yes, then how much descent hike I can ask for. If no, then I will be not eligible for my next hike as I am changing the team, till 1 year there will be no changes in my package.
Please can anyone help me out with a good script to negotiate a higher salary offer. What the company is offering is way too low.
Suggestions are welcomed..
