The horror of a spouse who wants to get in the spirit and do something nice for the one they love most. Oh no!!!!!!!!!
Maybe revisit your "no-gift" Christmas idea. It sounds like he's not on board and maybe just went along with it because you wanted it. Of all the things that can be "wrong" with a spouse, this is not it. This is a pick your battle situation and this is a battle you need to decide to lose. He obviously enjoys the hunt of finding something he thinks you're going to love. That by itself is a gesture of love. I would put this in the win column for you and write about it in your gratitude journal. Change your mindset on the whole situation. When you really break it down and remember there are people out there who have recently lost their spouses or are still grieving and struggling...you are the lucky one to even be able to post something like this with an annoyed emoji. They would trade places with you in half a blink.
Awh that's sweet! I feel like if my husband and I did that he wouldn't actually get me something and then I would be sad lol. So we'll keep buying each other gifts each year so nobody's feelings get hurt lol.
Is gift giving one of his love languages?
Give him the good stuff but demand the best from him in return.
We buy ourselves something and then tell each other what a great gift we got lol
