This job market is insane right now.

Now, with all of these layoffs... employers have the upper hand, and it's super competitive to land the job.

I work full time as a senior manager (L7) at Amazon. I've passed one the hardest interview that Amazon has to be a part of the executive team.

I started coaching on the side and really fell in love with it. I've helped a ton of people land their dream job!

If you need a career coach or help with prepping for your next interview. DM me or comment!

I got laid off in December and am considering taking a massive pay cut for my next job. I was client side being massively overpaid, but always stressed and didn’t love the pressure of being senior.

Am I insane thinking about taking a 50% pay cut for a much more junior role doing work I was doing 5-7 years ago? But at a company I’m interested in?

I’m in my mid-40s with a 7 year old and baby. Is it too late for me to back into public accounting? I was laid off last year and found a great job in a large bank. I miss the flexibility, challenge and rigor of PA. I would love your opinions. Has the ship sailed for me in PA? If I go back I would be an experienced senior; maybe, a year or so from manager.

At Deloitte now. laid off last year while on medical leave. Landed a new job with the help of a senior mentor and vouched for me not knowing my medical limitations. I just had to take sick leave again on the first project out of the gate. Dr is recommending 40 hours a week which will not fit the requirements of my director role. I feel like I need to switch roles to a non client facing role to be realistic in my health limitations. How do I make the switch and have the convo with w my mentor?

I have 6 years professional working experience since I graduated college. Worked in consulting, advertising and tech. I feel like I know nothing deeply about anything to be a significant expert/leader at work. I haven’t been fired, so clearly something is working. Especially in consulting I feel like my job is trying to problem solve something new to me and BSing on the way. Will this feeling go away? Feel like I’m not junior enough to be naive/inexperienced or senior enough to be confident

Curious if anyone has dealt with this? I started a job in industry and took a senior role. I’m very used to a “there’s always a fire,” atmosphere, but since I started this job, I feel like I don’t have much to do and I have zero direction from my boss. Every one around me seems super busy and I’m worried I’m not producing enough, but he says I’m doing “fine.” Naturally my millennial anxiety has kicked in and I’m on the “you’re getting fired,” thought spectrum. Anyone else have this anxiety?

i just had an excellent review with my supervisors. we are aligned i am ready to be promoted. i will be moving from project manager to senior project manager.

the catch; my company has laid off 75% of its staff, and cut our salaries by 25%.

timing is unclear, since we work in the live entertainment space. what is fair to ask for?

i have 7 years work force experience, am the only one in my position, touch every creative deliverable the agency makes, and updated and streamlined 10+ processes.

McKinsey paid 573M to settle charges about it's role in turbo charging the opioid crisis. Question for the consultants- does morality come into play when you make recommendations? I work in healthcare and have turned down work on a few occasions when I just cannot justify some asks, or leaders are clearly fraudsters. I have fired a few clients too. I am senior enough to put my foot down and get my way. How does it work in consulting?

The junior associates on my team made a gigantic mistake I could not fix in time (despite my best efforts). I feel like my head is going to roll because I was the senior associate shepherding the assignment for the three senior partners I work with. I am planning to reach out to the three partners to ask to debrief. But is there anything I can start thinking about or doing right away in case I do get fired in that convo? What do you wish you knew about getting fired?

Say you work at Accenture and are doing OK (haven't been laid off yet and have projects lined up). Also let's say that you have good skills in cloud infrastructure, which is plenty busy right now.

What would motivate you to accept a job offer at a tiny consulting firm (less than 300 people)?

Would a good raise and a promotion to Senior Manager be enough?

There are many risks involved with going to a tiny firm. What would it take for you make the jump and overcome concerns?

Are there additional benefits I should also consider?

is the pay jump from jr. to ad or senior that drastic?

Backstory. First generation college student, first in fam to have “an office job with benefits etc and pto.” Recently been seeing a lot of posts about creatives, why certain positions are more likely to get fired etc. what jumped out at me was the $$ people were giving for each position. I assumed jr’s are like 40-50k, ad 50-60k, senior 60-70k. These posts are saying it’s more like 40-50k, 60-70k and 80-90k. Is that real?

Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

Thanks in advance!

As I get older and have less of the rose tinted glasses perspective that I did coming into the industry, I've been slowly becoming more worried about the potential for layoffs (not firing). I feel like it's normal and bound to happen to most people due to factors outside of their control, whether they're at an agency, client side etc. I think this comes from a deep rooted trauma as a child where my single parent became unemployed and we were homeless for a bit.
