Anyone hiring at the experienced associate or senior associate level for any supply chain consulting or industry positions?
2.5YOE and was recently laid off from a startup due to lack of business need.

I got laid off in December and am considering taking a massive pay cut for my next job. I was client side being massively overpaid, but always stressed and didn’t love the pressure of being senior.

Am I insane thinking about taking a 50% pay cut for a much more junior role doing work I was doing 5-7 years ago? But at a company I’m interested in?

At Deloitte now. laid off last year while on medical leave. Landed a new job with the help of a senior mentor and vouched for me not knowing my medical limitations. I just had to take sick leave again on the first project out of the gate. Dr is recommending 40 hours a week which will not fit the requirements of my director role. I feel like I need to switch roles to a non client facing role to be realistic in my health limitations. How do I make the switch and have the convo with w my mentor?

Is it common to negotiate the severance package when receiving and offer letter? I.e 3 months of severance for more senior roles? (VP and up)

i just had an excellent review with my supervisors. we are aligned i am ready to be promoted. i will be moving from project manager to senior project manager.

the catch; my company has laid off 75% of its staff, and cut our salaries by 25%.

McKinsey paid 573M to settle charges about it's role in turbo charging the opioid crisis. Question for the consultants- does morality come into play when you make recommendations? I work in healthcare and have turned down work on a few occasions when I just cannot justify some asks, or leaders are clearly fraudsters. I have fired a few clients too. I am senior enough to put my foot down and get my way. How does it work in consulting?

The junior associates on my team made a gigantic mistake I could not fix in time (despite my best efforts). I feel like my head is going to roll because I was the senior associate shepherding the assignment for the three senior partners I work with. I am planning to reach out to the three partners to ask to debrief. But is there anything I can start thinking about or doing right away in case I do get fired in that convo? What do you wish you knew about getting fired?

My partner is an accomplished writer and author with 10+ years in digital media as an editor (lifestyle, food, travel), but they are looking to get into something less volatile after layoffs. Folks, any advice on applying for jobs at a previous client? As a firm we have great relationships with the senior client leadership and I am afraid that the GEP and my RL will eventually find out when I submit my job application. On the other hand, if I tell my RL prior to applying, I will probably end up towards the top of “people to be laid off” list.

How are the responsibilities of a senior consultant differ from that of a staff consultant at EY? For some context, I received an offer at EY at the senior consultant level, but I was a consultant at Deloitte (before getting laid off due to COVID). Looking for advice: have an offer to start at PwC S& as a senior associate. However, I now have a 5 wk old daughter and am concerned about travel during and after the pandemic. Longer work hours, missing milestones, and news about recent layoffs at the firm also bother me. Have a stable and a bit boring job right now in Industry. So, is the move worth it? And for any parents, is it worth missing those early years and milestones for the possibility of increased pay?

One of my senior managers is a boomerang and told me she was laid off when she was 7 months pregnant about 10 years ago. I think she was a senior or manager. She was in a specific group and everybody was laid off. It wasn’t performance based.

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.

Right now, severance pkg. and a more senior title are most important. Has anyone negotiated a title bump? Outcome?

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

My recommender got laid off from the firm. What do I say for her description in the application portal? “Ex Senior Manager”? “Ex EY”??

is the pay jump from jr. to ad or senior that drastic?

Backstory. First generation college student, first in fam to have “an office job with benefits etc and pto.” Recently been seeing a lot of posts about creatives, why certain positions are more likely to get fired etc. what jumped out at me was the $$ people were giving for each position. I assumed jr’s are like 40-50k, ad 50-60k, senior 60-70k. These posts are saying it’s more like 40-50k, 60-70k and 80-90k. Is that real?

When is it time to ask about or even start thinking about a promotion?

I have been at my current agency for 15mo and it’s my first real job. Since Covid, I feel like I have a lot more responsibilities and have been doing what I think is AD and even senior AD stuff (especially the last two months since my agency laid off a bunch of people. Our team lost an ACD and AD).

The AD role is open on our team. I’m wondering if I should ask about it or not. What can I do to show them I’m ready?

Looking for insight on if making a career change into consulting is a good or bad idea with everything going on right now. I’m confused. I was furloughed from a regional firm, and I’m scared of being laid off. I have an offer from a small cpa firm and an offer from a mid tier firm. My goal has always been to join b4, and I’m going to try when the hiring freeze (HF) is lifted...but what should I do right now?

1. Stay at regional, apply to b4 after HF
2. Take mid tier offer, apply to b4 after HF
3. Take small firm offer, apply to b4 after HF
4. Take mid tier offer, become senior, and then apply to b4 2 years later

Layoffs at VSA Partners today in Chicago and NYC. 25 people. Don't worry, though, because almost all of the director level and execs didn't get cut! Phew! Only largely senior level designers!

Just want to thank the people in this bowl for giving me advice on several posts awhile back post-COVID layoffs. Had taken on 2 other (senior) people’s jobs/duties and then successfully managed and executed 3 major projects, I finally asked my new boss (team lead) about a title change and I’m glad I did! It was definitely something he had not thought about but could see the clear reasoning behind it and was willing to go to HR to ask if it was possible.

Looking for advice/opinions on severance. What kind of severance should be expected at a senior (SVP) level with 10+ years at an agency?
