Boring and great WLB is great for babies and little kids. Seriously you don’t know how much time you’ll want for your babies until you have them.
Yes this. If you don’t need the biglaw money do not go back. Even better if you have remote flexibility at the in house gig.
Going through pregnancy is also much easier if you have good work life balance. I seriously underestimated the toll it would take on my energy and ability to concentrate.
Where do you work? They hiring? Boring and great WLB sounds perfect
I’m still pretty junior so that may have to do with it
I wouldn’t jump yet. Coming from an in-house 9-5er who has a 3 year old and is pregnant with #2. A little boredom in exchange for flexibility is well worth it, and if you’re still fairly junior, you can expect the complexity of your work to increase over the next few years. It’ll get more interesting!

Agree with others that it really makes sense to prioritize WLB for pregnancy and motherhood. Trying to impress people at a new job during pregnancy or the first year or so of motherhood would also be really hard.
