What is the best way to pivot from recruiter to HRBP? I am currently obtaining my MS in HR & SHRM-SCP but trying to avoid taking a pay cut starting from a generalist due to lack of hands on experience

I'm SHRM-SCP certified and I have been interested in the total rewards or compensation side of HR. Do you think that getting the CCP certification is a good investment? I've seen many Total Rewards open positions but I feel I don't have the necessary experience. Any advices?

I’m looking to formally pivot to HR. My experience has been a jack of all trades, operations, some HR, some finance, etc. I’m currently a Director of a federal agency that I’ve been with for 7 years. I’m looking to transition back into the private sector. Would a SHRM-SCP help with the transition and will the certification make a difference?

Why is it so hard to find a remote HR position? I have my SHRM-SCP, my MBA and over 10 years of experience being an HR Manager.

Hi Everyone, I have been an HR Generalist for close to 7 years. I had good managers and poor managers in between. My VP once told me not to pursue my MBA because she would teach me everything she knew. She never did. I am currently going for my SHRM SCP. I really enjoy being a Generalist but I don’t know if I want to be an HR Manager. Any suggestions on other areas of HR I should consider?

What do you think is a realistic salary for a HR Manager with 12 years experience in small companies (80-200 employees), MBA, SHRM-SCP in Hampton Roads VA area?

Any advice for an experienced HR professional with SHRM-SCP? I was downsized from my last job as a VP of Admin wanted to go with Coordinator/Assistant structure. Been in HR for nearly 20 years with mostly generalist experience. Managed a function and/or people for most of that time. Senior level in my experience, but definitely not executive level. (Limited budgeting and PM experience.) Having a horrible time finding a new role! Getting a lot of interviews but no offers and getting discouraged.

I'm a little bit under two years in my HR career. I was hired on full time has an HR Generalist and I want to start studying for my SHRM-CP, but I'm a little bit intimidated on how to start. Are there free online tests to take that are comparable to the exam?
