My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

I'm sure the employer will be more than happy to have just them in the office slaving away. As long as they don't try to drag others who like the flexible schedule / hybrid, why not just have the choice to be office also?
Idk man, I'm hybrid field/home and I love it, beats the heck out of sitting in traffic going to and from the office just to dispatch from there.
Well, it depends on your requirements. For me, work from home is way better than coming into the office because it allows me to take care of my dogs. I know to some people it's dumb, but when I head out all I can think about is the both of them alone in my apartment (and making a mess while they're at it lol)
I completely understand where your coworkers are coming from. It can be really hard to adjust to a new way of working, especially when it feels like you're so far removed from everything. But I think it's important to remember that you're all in this together. Have you guys had any team meetings to air out your grievances?
For me it was easy, being just out of college, but I can see old veterans having a hard time with it, working the same way for 30 years and having to change
It sounds like your coworkers are just lazy and don't want to put in the effort to do their jobs. I don't know a single person who prefers to work in an office instead of their own home.
People all over the world are happily doing their work away from everything. Are you sure it's a hybrid issue and not a workplace culture issue?
