Has anyone else done the tax haven move? My $220k total comp package in South Florida actually buys a lower quality of life than my old $120k salary in Ohio. Rent down here has completely detached from reality, inflation is eating my paycheck alive, and the local wealth gap is just depressing. I’m saving less cash now than I did when I was making nearly half as much in a boring Midwestern town. Kind of regretting everything.

Now imagine living in South Florida on $120k.
What do you mean by tax haven move? Like you want to move the Puerto Rico or Panama?

Having lived in Ohio, there’s nowhere that $120k would go that far that I would want to live.

I am looking for ideas for a high school intervention class with students reading at PP-4th. I am a brand new teacher and have never taught intervention but we are extremely short staffed. I inherited the class mid-last semester and the former teacher had no framework whatsoever. I'm pulling grade level texts and trying to work on reading fluency and comprehension but don't feel like what I'm doing is effective, and the students are not very engaged. Any great resources I should check out?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.
