Hello! I am a recent graduate of a medical billing and coding program and I’ m finding it really difficult to get a job because most employers are looking for someone with at least 3 years experience. How do I get my foot in the door with no real time experience?

I would start at a larger company (think Humana or United Health) just doing patient access or appointment scheduling. Those generally don't need much experience, but that will get you in the door and will make it easier for you to move up to billing or coding.

like

Look around at local facilities and start in HIS or HIM.
I know our company would like to see at least a year of experience, but some of our clients require more experience.

I’m ready to find another gig. Btw I’m 1.5 years into the industry now soo I’m kinda new-ish. I’ve been working at a small shop, but I’m not a fan of the work we do. We rarely make “big idea” kind of stuff.

My book doesn’t have too many examples of real ad work that aligns with the kind of work I want to do. Is that a huge deal breaker for other agencies?

How does one tailor their book to stand out and transition to an agency that’s making the big stuff they want to make?

Have about 1 YOE in my current T2 firm. Just received a strategy offer for industry. TC is just about ~$105k for 45 hrs/wk. The industry job has an AMAZING culture, very mission driven, and aligned with what I want to do long term, but potentially with limited career growth. Next year T2 consulting comp is around ~$110k-120k for 60 hrs/wk. Is it too early to exit? Would appreciate any advice from the more experienced fish!

For doing all this they have not even clearly offered me a promotion, raise or a change in position. What should I do?

Current care coordinator and full time nursing student looking for a remote healthcare job that pays well and is flexible for students…any suggestions?

Hi! I'm currently interviewing (3/6 interviews so far) for for an appeals manager role for DME. The job entails not only to bill for dme (cms 1500) but also to follow up on any denials or appeals, amongst other administrative duties. My questions are is it typical to have 1 person doing both the billing and denials within a new vertical for all ins.? How difficult is billing for dme as I only have experience in gyn onc and lactation billing? What's a fair salary? I have 8+ yoe in rcm, no certs.

Looking for remote position in nursing. Experience in clinic outpatient setting and management. What types of opportunities are out there for me? Thanks! 😊
