It's usually the typical reason that a candidate's experience doesn't align closely with the job requirements. That's a significant hurdle. But the only thing I'm particularly picky about is candidates with clear communication. I think it is crucial in accounting, so when I come across candidates who struggle to articulate their skills or experience effectively often face challenges.
Are you making it past the initial phone screen? If you're making it to the first round with actual people in the company and not getting called back, then it's not your experience per se. It's 100% how you're coming across in the interview and the content of your answers.
