Hi all! I am a 5th year associate. I’ve lateraled a couple times due to better opportunities. My coworkers enjoy working with me and overall I’m doing what I need to do. I’m more of a night person so I will work until 2/3 am several nights out of the month to make sure I don’t fall behind. However, I am consistently questioning my competency and my ability. I confided in a trusted superior and they think I’ve imposter syndrome. I’ve always attributed that as a loose word said often (continued)..

Therapy for sure. I’m in my 8th year of practice and second year in house and I still often doubt myself. A few things I’ve learned in therapy:

1. Not knowing everything isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It means you are learning and challenging yourself. So the day you know everything is the day your job gets permanently boring. I still question what I know every day, but I don’t associate “what I don’t know yet” with my overall competence.

2. Imposter syndrome is often the result of an underlying need to have external validation because you tie your overall worth to your work. But you are much more than that. And I do think as we age and grow our relationships/families, perspective helps us all to realize there are more important things that we contribute to in life meaningfully, aside from our work. And I am sure the same is true for you!

Super weird that I blacked out & forgot writing this post because this has to be me… But in all seriousness, I’m a 5th year and feel precisely this way. No great suggestions - just commiseration. But I do like this reframing of imposter syndrome that I saw floating around Tumblr:

Unironically, this reframing has been more helpful in confronting my imposter syndrome than years of therapy

(Continued) But when I read up on it, I think I fall within the “perfectionist” category and it can lead to self-fulfilling prophecies and actually make me a worse performer. We’re all anxious and stressed from this profession, but how do I overcome this? Is it just a time thing? I feel as a 5th year I shouldn’t be doubting myself anymore.

I once tried some help on this. I read a book called “Yes, You Are Good Enough” it had a giant list of things that I would be feeling if I had imposter syndrome. I only resonated with two things on the list and then put the book down. So I guess it worked.

Hi everyone,
I want to learn Salesforce Tableau CRM (formerly known as Einstein Analytics) and switch to a different organisation. In my current company stuck in a project where there's no learning scope, no growth and work culture is toxic. Now I'm only going through Trailhead, YouTube playlist videos and practicing hands on in my free personal org. Are these enough to crack interviews or not? I don't have real-time project experience.
