Why are the only big-name layoffs Creatives? No agency president, CEO or CFO who left their agency unprepared is being fired?
What exactly does VP mean? Contractual obligation, reports to President? Can’t get fired? What are pros and cons if any of a position like VP Creative Director, etc.
Sessions fired. Looks like Trump understands how much trouble he’s in. To all the Trumpers in this thread trying to spin yesterday’s results... maybe you should tell your president.
Has any one yet heard of the president of Tangible Media shutting all operations and letting all employees go. No severance package, no paid vacation, nothing but a 48 hour notice to pack up and go.
When your president wants to bring in outside media professionals to audit your plans, do you quit? Are you getting fired? Anyone hiring?!
I got fired without notice a day before my meeting with the president of the agency. My boss( talented) always turned down my ideas saying it was not in the scope of my job to think. What do I do?
For real though, anyone freaking out about layoffs and/or coming recession being exacerbated by a globally unpopular president?
So Democrats are calling for the DNC chair to be fired over an email scandal, but are willing to elect Hillary for a president after her email scandals? Talk about Crooked!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Ex-BAH people: anyone here leave bc they got fired? If so, did you see it coming or was it a total surprise?
Have you ever applied for a position at a company you’ve been laid off from? Is that weird? Not that I’m at all considering it, but I’m just curious if anyone has actually done it... (And why??) 🧐
Got laid off today, on visa status. Wondering what options are and what do I tell places I am interviewing at ?
I think leveraging an offer to get more money is the worst. Now your bosses know you want to leave, you are the fist option during layoffs and you look like an ass the other company.
I wish Ad salaries were like NBA salaries. Each year you get a ridiculous raise no matter how shitty you perform. If you are good you get bird rights and no layoff clauses. And retire at 35.
Just got laid off and want to move back to the east coast. Any advice for either before I'm officially kicked out of the office or for the new job hunt?
Laid off today because of drop in workload due to Corona Virus. Experienced attorney but first time working in Biglaw as a Staff Attorney. Should I be asking HR or Attys I worked for Ref Letter?
Everyone says “don’t sign anything in the room” if you get laid off, but what I want to know is how do you successfully negotiate in the room?
I’m at an agency that just went through several rounds of layoffs. It often seems like staff have no recourse when the layoffs hit. How could a staff union assist in that situation?
Had a glowing fantastic performance review last year. This year no review, just a meeting with managing partner and HR to tell me I am fired and to leave now. No bad performance. Is it just the money?
Laid off exactly a month ago. Since the minute I found out, I’ve been applying, networking, interviewing, on repeat. Every single day. I’m so terribly exhausted. Can anyone share some wisdom? 😔
Have seen a lot of referral threads on here. Since most of us have at-will employment couldn't we be fired if our firms found us soliciting other firms? I know it's unlikely but still seems to be a
Is the ad agency biz model dying a slow death? Layoffs, consolidations, no longer valued by clients, seen as a middle man/cost center, no hard proof of ROI anymore, etc, etc. Discuss.
Got let go today. Re-structuring. There less than 3 months. They are offering me 1 week severance. Thoughts?
One of the best thing of the job is you won't be stuck with the same people. I'm so glad I'll roll off soon and it's been so frustrating to deal with some ppl on my team.
Sr Mgr salary: Please post either a) SM salary or salary range, plus firm, and/or b) SM salary at Deloitte Consulting specifically incl. OP
Is there a recruiting/interviewing guide for FAANG floating around? Can someone share? Guide on how to secure a FAANG job? Asking for a friend!
Any advice for client presentations? I struggle with public speaking, and I have a few coming up next week. I’m super nervous. Any tips? This will be my first time! Just joined the firm 2 months ago.
Offering essay review consulting services and am looking to take on a few new clients. Cornell undergrad, current Wharton MBA. $215/hour - please reach out if interested
I’m, technically, a Jr but being paid as a Mid because I had a great mentor who believed in me. I’m now moving on to an actual Mid role but have no idea if I should ask for a higher salary because if I do, I’ll basically be asking for close to a Sr Creative’s salary. At the same time, I don’t want to seem like I can be taken advantage of or a pushover if I don’t ask for more. Any advice on how I can navigate this?
When you're sick and have to go to the doctor (or any other reason you're missing work) do you tell your boss you're not coming in or do you ask them for permission?
If you have laid off, how easy/difficult has been job hunting for you....where all are you trying and are you finding if people are even open to H1 xfer
Interviewing at a couple agencies and getting close to an offer at one, but only just starting the interview journey at another. Is it inappropriate to be transparent that there’s another opportunity?
Advice desperately needed. I've been at my agency for 6 years and I have a one year old child. Work is going well since I returned 6 months ago after maternity leave, my boss likes me, has given me more responsibility and praises my work but he's basically told me I won't be promoted because the 2 CD slots above me are both filled. Staying would be comfortable and easy with the little one especially but I feel I'm never going to grow and progress if I don't move up so I feel I have no choice but to look elsewhere. What would you do?
What are MBB exit salaries like in Europe? Looove seeing the 250-400k TC exits from our brothers and sisters in the US but what is realistically possible back on the old continent?
How do you make a decision? My girl friend told me everything I ask or say it open ended. I am in strategy consulting and that is one of the biggest skill when you do baseline interviews (contd)
Fishes - can anyone recommend a good book to train myself on case interviews. 41 year old tech consultant, so don't think I have any chance of getting picked up by a MBB, but still curious
Senior Promotion 🎉😊 Good Luck FB fam trying for one! (P.S.: when does the official communication come out?)
