Hi, did anybody ever experience wrong tax calculations by JPMC Payroll/tax team ? Or is there any specific month where they deduct more tax. Huge amount of tax deduction is done for Oct payout. From my CA’s calculation the amount deducted by JPMC team looks wrong. Anybody experienced this?

We become numb to it - to be honest think we overestimate the reaction time needed jn a lot of cases - we could relax a little with no major downside. No one will die!

I've given up. I let some demands slide and fail, I focus more on family, and I meditate and drink whisky (in the mornings and evenings respectively). The upside isn't there to grind yourself to the bone. What, make great $ but die early and alone at work? Fuck it. I'll take lower bonuses for being alright but not a superstar.
Drinking whisky in the mornings and evenings is another way to die early and alone at work.
Easy: prioritize clients and home. Everything else doesn’t matter.
Easy to say at least, not always do, for sure
Agree but home, clients, … …. internal politics. In that order

I try to prioritize family above all else. Then I focus on clients and let the internal politics play itself out. Internal politics are only important if you’re a house mouse and only want to stay back end, which works to ascend to the upper echelons but is that juice worth the squeeze?
Depends on where you work. In some companies internal politics is everything.
I’ve allowed myself to be flattered into taking on too much crap. Need to be more humble and more aware of my capacity. So hard to dial back but need to. Told myself I’d start saying no a couple weeks ago but along comes another cool sounding opportunity. Will be the one that has me hit a bottom.

I've always been the one to strive to be promoted to the next level and made it from senior consultant to partner in 5 years. Now im hit with a new reality check that jumping from one partner tier to to the next requires a lot more sacrifice. I've realized to be content with where I am and focus on family, clients and put less emphasis and joining every internal event and entertaining internal politics for the sake of constant recognition. At this point, I'll only consider moving if I stop learning or I realize my job takes me away from being a good husband and father.
It is a lot to deal with but I have seen some of other partners who don’t care about being busy at work all the time. I think they prioritize family demands. I need to learn from them.
