My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.

Can I still work as a telemarketer even though I have a noticeable accent? People don't say they can't understand me but they seem relieved when they get to talk to somebody else. I’m a young(ish) male running a private practice. Been with the group a year and a half and haven’t exactly gelled with some of the older employees. We’ve made tremendous financial improvements but in a meeting last night one of the physicians stated, in front of me, maybe we shouldn’t have hired a young guy to run the practice….I can’t think of a more passive aggressive way to ask someone to leave.
