Thoughts on FP&A? I’m currently a senior tax accountant and got asked to the last round of interviews for a senior FP&A position (narrowed down to 2 people). I feel like I’ll get it as I have friends at this company in accounting who put in recommendations for me. Only thing holding me back is I made manager this week and overall like the flexibility of PA, hate busy season though.
Ideas on ways to get into industry as a senior tax accountant? (not a tax position). 2nd year senior. Feel I may not be qualified for some senior positions in industry bc of tax background.
Is PMO experience valuable? Got put in a PM role at the client site and feeling like I have no analytical opportunity.
When your background meets the projects/position requirements 100% but they take a new hire straight From undergrad over you. Whatever..#TREYWAYALLDAY
I see a lot of folks on LinkedIn who worked at the companies we’re all trying to exit to (FAANG etc) and cite amazing impact, yet they all left in 8mo-1.5yr. If they were doing that well why leave?
I want to approach over LinkedIn a Partner of another firm whom I'd like to work for - given my specific specialism. No idea of their hiring status, no connections in common. Tips? Better way?
Seen a lot of posts on folks looking to exit to BizOps or Strategy & Ops in tech. Creating this to share experiences and network. https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_z04o7e
My client has given me an offer (current role) and I'm inclined to accept it. Any gotchas that I need to be aware of?
I know this is not the economy to think this, but I work under a director I’m at the point I cannot work under and have stopped developing. I am in IT audit and am thinking of exit opportunities in the mid-west. I need a talk on if I should stay or look for opportunities to leave

Currently a tax intern at a regional firm. Looking to move into a big4 toward next busy season. (I know there is a hiring freeze currently) Am I better off to try to get in as an intern or as a staff 1? Field is Tax. Any advice is welcome! Thank you in advance!!
I recently got promoted from planner to supervisor. Anybody else struggle at first with being more hands off in the Supervisor role? Finding it hard to let go. Any tips would be much appreciated
We are hiring staff/managers (not to manage their own book). It’s been hard finding people who are Registered, driven, detail oriented, etc. Besides LinkedIn, where else can we look?
We’re truly lucky to be hiring right now at a time that is so uncertain. We’re looking for: Senior Designer (graphic design/typography/brand identity/design systems/OOH/print/editorial. 4-5 years)
Does switching to a similar role at another firm typically create a delay for getting promoted? For example, Associate to Senior Associate on my current team almost always takes 2 years on the dot (give or take a month). If after 1 year I switched to a similar role at a competing firm, could I still expect to get promoted after another 1 year, or does switching firms usually cause it to take longer?
Acn: I'm a level 10, but I was offered a role that is pegged as a level 6-7. Odds that this will help get me promoted faster? Or is that irrelevant
What to do when a company and role you are interested in would require a 50% pay cut? How to keep recruiter open?
Anyone here exit to a PM / non technical role /internal strategy role to FAANG or other high tech companies willing to give me career advice me?
A recruiter reached out about a mid market PE firm for an Associate role. Small team of about 20 or so. How can I go about assessing if this is a good opportunity?
I already completed an MA degree that's aligned with what I'm doing before Deloitte. Is it worth doing an MBA if I can get sponsorship? I wanna do it for more $$$ but not sure if it makes sense...
Would you return to the office right after flying if you have no symptoms? I would not want a colleague to come in if they just flew across the country until they isolate for a week or two, but it's individual choice at my office. I can stay home or go in. I just flew and want to go in - should I WFH a few days and/or get permission before I return? Everyone wears masks and distances at my office and anyone with high risk is fully remote now.
Is it normal to be given a severance package and encouraged to file for unemployment when being fired for "performance issues"?

Just got certified in a skill in demand for the role I’m applying for- how, or should I even mention this to the recruiter via email while I wait for them to set up the next interview?
I feel a little bit lost in the sea of possible “next steps"—- industry jobs, big 4, consulting, MBA, PhD, non-profit work, or move within my current middle-tier firm. Any advice on making decisions?
What are some concrete reasons why someone in consulting would be fired, other than the obvious stupid things?
I just found out I’m pregnant with my second. I’m up for promotion this year so I don’t want to let anyone at work know until I know if I made or not (probably). Continued...
What does a freelance Creative Recruiter (with 2-4 years of experience) make per day at a global ad agency in NYC?
When you get stuck behind old people that let everyone go first when getting off the plane..still don’t understand why it takes people so long to grab a suit case and walk..
