How do you approach leadership within your organization? Do you find them approachable? The leadership at my hospital encourages open, in-the-moment communication and has a ‘open-door’ policy where essentially we can come by at any time.

Our director is approachable when he is in the office. His main responsibility is fundraising and pressing-the-flesh at the civic clubs, chambers of commerce, support groups, etc. The defacto "assistant director" is basically there to talk to members of the community who pop in to talk to the director when he's not there. We are pretty much on autopilot most of the time. If there is a situation that demands immediate decisions, she has authority to make the call if it can't wait til the director gets back from Rotary Club.

Hi there! I interview for a position with a planned Parenthood this week for a role as Special Events Manager to oversee their fundraising department.
