I have received offer from Wipro which is little above than the offer that I am holding but fixed pay is less. Thinking of rejecting Wipro offer. Is it better to reject or accept and then not join. Also if I reject, will there be any issue like they won't consider me in future?Tata Consultancy Wipro Cognizant Infosys

Understand that references are useless, as no one is going to provide a critical reference to a potential employer. It is an HR game to check a box on some hiring checklist, so treat it like one. Get a former coworker you trust or a friend that can pose as one to be your reference.
You can be honest about jobs that don't exist anymore. I have quite a few in my past. It is no big deal.
I'm confused about this, though, because when they ask for references (especially if they ask for them after a few interviews) it seems like a legitimate request. But I do agree that finding someone who will say good things about you is the best/only way to go. Don't give out names or contact info for someone who won't have good things to say
