How realistic is it for a lab supervisor with mainly bench and operations experience to move into an industry role like clinical trial coordination or medical device, and what should I highlight on my resume so I don’t just look ‘stuck’ in the lab?

Moving from a lab supervisor role into CTC or the medical device industry can be a highly successful career pivot. Employers in these fields value lab people because they already understand the technical rigor, regulatory environment, and data integrity requirements that others have to be taught from scratch. Just my two cents.

Moving from a lab supervisor role into areas like clinical trial coordination or medical devices is definitely realistic. On your resume, you can highlight leadership, project management, and communication those are all highly valued outside the bench.

It can be easy with some project management certification but hard otherwise because its hard to build those skills

Hey folks. Question for the majority of us still under the big 3 holding co’s...are raises a thing anymore? I’ve been at my (smaller) agency almost 5yrs and got one raise (a nice $12k bump) during that time—is that sufficient? Is one increase in that span normal? I also recognize being somewhere 5 years is rare these days. The honeymoon period at any agency seems to be 2.5—3yrs before bolting. Not complaining, just asking. Have y’all been getting raises/bumps in any kind of regular cycle? Thx.
