I’m a business analyst L2 at a fin tech company in Miami. I have about 5.5 years experience. My base is 75K and bonus is about 10%. I suspect I may be underpaid but not sure. Before this job my experience was not directly in business analysis but transferable financial experience. My title is business analysis but I’m doing more consulting and implementation work than a true SDLC business analysis type role. What do you think? Am I underpaid? And if so, by how much?

Question:
Why do you want to come to pwc when you are already in consulting at another Big4 firm?

How do I get out of audit and pivot towards a strategy role? It seems like every option outside of being a senior accountant is unreachable. What should I be aiming for? Deals teams at the firms are “accountants on steroids” and not worth transferring to and apparently auditors can’t get any other roles.

My college freshman’s grades aren’t great; he has ADD and needs help with time management. He refuses to contact the academic support office because “there won’t be any resources available” once he has a job and he wants to do it all himself....not understanding that knowing when/how to get help is part of being an adult and an employee. When I explained this, he tried to tell me what it’s like in the working world, because he knows....from TV? From summer jobs? More than I know from 30 years..
