I have 10 years of experience in Full Stack development in .NET Core, MVC and SQL Server. I have been recently contacted via LinkedIn recruiter regarding a job opportunity for an SE2 role in Microsoft.

I am extremely terrified after seeing that email. How should I prepare for the interview? Can someone please guide me?

Is it bad to jump ship to another agency if you know you’re going to leave within a year? It’s a promo and would increase my salary by at least $50k, but I know I want to leave advertising for good. I’ve been trying to interview outside of advertising but nothing has happened yet. I figured I might as well get paid way more while I figure it out. And the title bump should help, right?

If I’m wrong, I’m all ears.

I interviewed for a role where I told them my expected salary range was $50-60k, and the recruiter told me the base salary was $60k. I just got to the offer stage, and they are offering me $60k, can I negotiate the salary for more since I know this is their base salary rate, even though the expected salary range I gave was below? Or would I seem ungrateful since they are technically meeting the high end of my desired salary range that I gave?

If I apply to and interview with a new firm after 2 YOE, will I still have to do case interviews? What’s the hiring process like?

Is it just me or does anyone feel like holding a CPA is not as important as how it was before? Especially in tax. A lot firms waived the promotion requirement before manager. I am a first year senior and have CPA, but it feels like experience > certification nowadays. Like I spend thousands of hours and thousands dollars on those exams, but in the end it’s kinda the same. I recently realized that the people who use the Oxford coma vs those who do not use the Oxford coma align with the people who I do not like and there people I like.

1st time homebuyer here.. under contract for a 700k house. Seller is a builder and did a full flip of the home in 2020. Biggest issue from inspection is uneven floors on both stories and foundation being mixed old 1920s supports and new. Is it reasonable to ask for them to either fix the sagging floors or take off 5-10k from the purchase price?

Currently PM at microsoft but considering switching to a startup in Amsterdam. Pay will be lower, but am excited about company/people/mission. That being said, still I want to negotiate the offer as much as possible, and want to feel like am getting a fair deal. The current pay cut from my current salary is a bit of a hard pill to swallow.
