See if the marketing team/bd team would let you retake. They care more about external presentation and might be sympathetic to you not feeling like you look your best, and if they say it looks fine then it's probably not egregiously bad. New people join firms at any time, if the firm can't afford retakes on promotional pictures then they've got bigger problems.

Just tell them you’d like to retake whenever the next new person starts. I think it’s nbd. I wouldn’t escalate to managing partner or anything crazy, but just be super nice to the marketing person and ask if it’s possible to get a new one at some point.
I understand and feel the same way about my photos! I asked the photographer if my hair looked ok and she said yes but when the pictures came, I hated all of them. I don’t have a good answer for you. I picked the best of the bunch but told marketing that I would like to retake my pictures the next time that someone is hired and they have a photographer come. For now I’m living with the photos I don’t love but I am going to jump on the first opportunity for a retake.
Your feelings about this are valid. I completely and totally understand being upset.
I hated mine once and let the marketing person know that I wanted a retake next time it was available. It was no problem, though I did have to wait several months. I just lateraled and when I signed up for my headshot appointment I noticed the cost was about $250. I’m happy with how this one turned out but if I hated it, I’d be willing to just pay to get it redone myself.
Why not get a new headshot at a studio and send it to the marketing team?
