Question: Theoretically, what kind of raise (percentage) or benefits would you need to leave a role where you have *relatively* good work, a good team and great work/life balance, with the consideration that money, location and family/personal affairs aren’t issues? My MD is pushing for me to get a 15% raise in my current role, but I know I’m worth at least 35% more than my current comp.

The issue here is that he lives in DC as of Nov 2019, filed his 2019 taxes in MD and his tech company was based in Los Angeles but he traveled all the time. He filed in DC and got denied since they couldn’t find the job he worked?? Not sure if he should provide his W-2 to DC or just file in MD instead. Any help is appreciated as he’s weeks behind on getting benefits.

Can someone explain to me why the government doesn’t just freeze rent and mortgage payments during coronavirus and then provide unemployment to those who need it? What am I missing here?
