You probably wouldn't be expected to send a thank you note, but that's all the more reason to do it. It's always a nice gesture. Just keep it concise, say you enjoyed the conversation, and don't say anything that requires a response from them. It may not make a difference but it certainly won't hurt any.

It’s a few minutes and doesn’t hurt. I didn’t usually send a thank you until the actual interview, but times are different, and I’d rather be safe than sorry here.

Always yes. As someone (client facing) who does interviews including virtual, it puts a real person behind the call and helps differentiate - but only if you make it genuine and either put a good take away or an interesting follow up that shows you’re thinking two steps ahead about your career and my firm
