I know some people who think human resources is a made-up job. That we just sit around and hang out all day and don't really do anything. Which is crazy to me because I feel like, in many ways, we keep the company together.
@admin officer
Exactly. Most people only see HR when they need something, so they have no idea about the constant fires and heavy lifting behind the scenes.
We work harder in this department than most. I look around sometimes and everyone else (especially those who make more than me) has left for the day and I’m still working & putting out fires. Looking back now, I wish I did something else with my life.
I feel this. HR is often undervalued even though we carry some of the toughest emotional and operational burdens. The stereotype that it is "soft" work is just insulting
How is HR flexible? Why would woman need flexible? This isn't the 1950's anymore.
Right? The assumption that women need special "flexibility" is stuck in the past. HR is a professional field, not a fallback job. That comment says more about their outdated mindset than our profession
I have not experienced the flexibility part in my current role. Where do I sign up? Lol
