I once had a male exec complain that our parental leave policy was “too generous” because it encouraged women to “check out” after having kids. Meanwhile, he took two weeks off for a golf trip last month. I’m so tired of the double standards. How do you handle leaders who don’t see their own bias?

You aren’t going to handle somebody like that. Explaining how ridiculous that is won’t matter to them. If anything, you are going to hurt yourself with that process. If it came down to them violating a policy, well, that’s different.

Having this opinion in the first place is bad enough; actually voicing it is next-level tone deaf. That really grinds my gears. I deal with the same thing and just try to let it roll off my shoulders. If these people were capable of shame or empathy, they wouldn't think having kids is some "get out of jail free" card. Pointing out their hypocrisy won't make them discover either, it'll just put you on their bad side. Better to just ignore if possible.

I assume he used vacation for the golf trip, so he would respond as such.

I hope he realizes that men can also take FMLA for the birth of a child for bonding purposes, and to assist the wife while recuperating.

I'm holding an offer from MakeMyTrip and another offer from OlaElectric. Ninjacart is willing to make me an offer. But they're saying that they'd discuss the offer only after the other company that I'm interviewing with has come up with an offer first. There's been a delay from HRs of the companies in a similar way. How do I urge them to send me the offer letter without sounding pushy? I had reached out to some of the HRs myself. Would that be too awkward if I accept & back out their offer?
