Good luck finding a job for the next few years I’m sure company’s have tons of money to hire people like you.
With the greatest of respect, you’re a complete dope OP. Go ahead and volunteer yourself for a lay off. I’m certain PwC will oblige. Report back to us a year from now while you’re still unemployed and can’t even find any openings.
Uhhhh, while OP is being whiny, all you guys are acting like there will never be jobs again and unemployment won't be extended until that point. Ok to be grateful but a lot of Kool-Aid around here
Yeah I’d rather take the 6% cut they’re handing me now and still have a job and my benefits when this nonsense is over. This is not the attitude to have.
Last time I checked getting unemployment comes with 0 benefits. No 401k matching, no healthcare. Enjoy paying for your healthcare out of pocket if you get sick.
It’s 4 months of free time you could legit do anything with. And with this market options trading is lucrative enough I’ll have plenty of money for healthcare
You’re weird. Lol.
I’m sorry, but you have no clue what you are talking about. Go look up the unemployment benefits by state by pay band and for how long these cover (these vary greatly by state). You would be making much less than 80% of your current salary. Those are gross dollars, now factor in that you pay tax on unemployment benefits. Also, you need to buy your own healthcare.
I came on too strong. Sorry dawg. Your question isn’t as unreasonable as I made it out to seem now that I saw the extra $600 benefit. I still think the $$ is quite a bit less than 80% salary for most staff, especially those in low COL areas. So I guess it’s just a personal value equation of free time plus future employment risk vs staying employed.
Please fix:
Does “Seniors” = Senior Associates
Or Senior leadership?
Are you saying people at PwC who are going to be fired will have their salary cut? Also what firms are you talking about?
Chief
It’s not like you’re suddenly uninsured....it’s called COBRA dawg. Would just be more expensive
Is PwC cutting pay?
They haven’t even assessed incentive compensation yet. I feel like that would go first before a pay cut was considered.
Your numbers are faulty but go ahead. You’ve clearly got a sufficient fall back if you think that way.
Even if it was equal $ for $ (unemployment versus working full time with pay cut), I would still rather work. I’m a 1000% not cut out for playing the market and I was going to buy a house so actually have a sizeable deposit I can fall back on if needed.
